Apps for Cheap Travel

1. Airbnb

Airbnb is a great site to find cheap and sometimes unique lodging. Use this site to find apartment style homes or private rooms to stay in. This can be a cheap way to find lodging long term, or to help your food budget by being able to actually cook your meals in a kitchen in the place you are staying in. You can also book experiences such as cooking classes and walking tours by locals through this app.

2. Momondo

This travel booking site allows you to search by budget and destination type. I am also a huge fan of the flexible date finder. When you put in your dates and search you are also able to see what the price would be for different days and change them around to find the cheapest possible dates.

3. Skyscanner

Skyscanner is a great flight finder app that sets itself apart from the rest by allowing you to search by cheapest destination and dates. You don't have to know what time you will be going or even where! This is a great app to find the cheapest dates possible for a dream trip or even browse some of the cheapest destinations for a weekend trip.

4. Hostelworld

Sometimes all you really need is a cheap place to lay your head at night and for that Hostelworld is a great site. It has a comprehensive list of hostels around the world. One of the great things about a hostel aside from being a budget accommodation is the opportunity to meet fellow travelers from all over the world.

5. Sandeman New Europe

This is an amazing site that allows you to find free walking tours around Europe. A great way to learn more and see more of the beautiful city you find yourself in.

8. Hotel Tonight

If you are into last minute travel or find yourself in need of a place to stay close to your travel date this is the app for you. This app allows you to find last minute deals on Hotel rooms and since they are not booked yet they will be the cheapest they can go.

What apps do you use when traveling? Let me know in the comments below.
