Enoshima Island
Enoshima Island is a beautiful little island just outside Tokyo and a great day trip to get away form the hustle and bustle of the city.
The first thing you'll want to do once you get to the island is check out the first of the three Enoshima Shrines on the Island. The shrine houses one of the statues of Benten the goddess of wealth and patron goddess of Enoshima.
On the island the beaches are fairly rocky, but offer some beautiful views of the coastline and city scape across the way.
Making your way around the island you will notice a lot of great photo locations, one of which is this little bridge that you can get to just off of the to the side of the main Enoshima Shrine.
Unfortunately getting around the island is an uphill battle and you will want to take a lot of water breaks. Thankfully there are plenty of little restaurants for you to stop and rest at. You can also purchase an Enopass that includes admission to the main attractions and use of the escalators for 1000 yen. A very good deal if you happen to be going in summer as it gets hot and climbing all those stairs is not easy.
Watch out for napping felines!
